Kicking off Christmas week with a beautiful August wedding that I was lucky enough to help coordinate with Maggie and Troy. Maggie contacted me around 18 months before her wedding and I was amazed that when she hired me she already hired quite a few of her vendors.. she was very organized and during the planning process I realized why. Troy plays in the NHL and Maggie and Troy are constantly traveling for games and they were so smart to get so much done early…so that when they were home the few times during the year we could nail down all of the other pieces!!! A great group of vendors and a wonderful and trusting couple turned into a beautiful wedding at the classic Basilica of St. Mary and the newly renovated Loews Hotel!!

When I think of Jason and Amanda I think about our meetings where I was just about rolling on the floor laughing throughout the whole meeting!! Jason is hilarious and I loved to watch the interaction between he and Amanda. He was always very involved and passionate in his thoughts and opinions and luckily for him.. Amanda was on the same page as him! They wanted something fun and different and that is just what we did!! I had the challenge of making a formal wedding not feel like a stuffy wedding.. and it all started when they decide to serve burgers as their main entree.. The idea came to them when they saw numerous high end restaurants serving delicious burgers on their menus and they thought that would be a fun spin on traditional wedding food… and it was! This has to be one of my favorite meals at a wedding in a long time… Its pretty hard to beat a Juicy Damico Burger decorated with a cute burger pick and a side of nice wine!! Congratulations Jason and Amanda.. I miss our meetings and the big belly laughs that came with them!!

Planning a wedding from a distance is never an easy task.. but with Marty and Margit everything seemed so relaxed and easy.. they really trusted all of their vendors and it resulted in a beautifully planned and relaxing wedding day full of so much love and joy!! Marty and Margit live in Colorado and have a love of the outdoors… so while we wanted to plan a really formal wedding, we wanted to make sure and include a lot of details that incorporated their love of canoeing, skiing and their heritage!! Food is always a great place to personalize your event.. Marty grew up on the East Coast..so a Raw bar made perfect sense (in a canoe.. of course!!), Margit had a love if Izzy’s ice-cream ever since she was little.. so we incorporated that into our late night snacks and serving the Norwegian wedding cake, kransekake paid homage to Margit’s heritage!!

Margit and Marty.. I loved getting to work with you.. and I hope that you are getting excited for the snow to fly so you can start your first skiing season.. married 🙂

Planning a wedding from out of state is never an easy task.. and I guess that is why I have a JOB!! But with the help of Colleen (the wonderful mother of the bride!!) We were able to assist Nicole and Will with planning their dream wedding all while living in Michigan and only getting to come home for one planning meeting! We spent many hours face timing Nicole to ask her opinion and trying to explain things over email and what came together was a memorable night for everyone!!!

Eleven Bridesmaids and Groomsmen combined with 300 guests, food stations and dueling pianos really put the logistics of the wedding to the test.. but with the help of all of our GREAT vendors Nicole and Will’s wedding was fun, unique and a great celebration with all of their friends and family!!! Congratulations Nicole and Will!!
