This past August marked Lasting Impressions 10th year in business, I am so lucky and fortunate to do what I love every single day!! My favorite part of weddings continues to be the couples and families I get to work with and the traditions that each culture has for their special day!!! Ayesha and Josh were a special couple… neither one of them ever lived in Minnesota, they just chose Minneapolis as the location for their wedding because we were centrally located and easy to get to for most of the guests coming in from Michigan, New York, Japan and India! What an honor it was to plan an event for guests that were traveling such large distances to come and celebrate!! I love so many things about Hindu Weddings… The traditions, the colors, the clothes and more then anything… the importance of family!! Congratulations Josh and Ayesha.. I hope that New York is treating you well 🙂

Cheri and Jeff were not only so much fun to work with because of their love for each other, but they are also engineers and I got to learn about the wedding planning process through a whole other set of eyes! They were meticulous on the detailing of the invitations, making sure that the colors were all incorporated perfectly and that the day flowed seamless.. This was a quality that I not only loved.. But I also felt so honored that they chose me to help create their special day! Cheri and Jeff lived in Boston when we started our wedding planning and with job changes they moved to California during the last months of our planning.. This not only made having a wedding planner handy for them , but crucial! Cheri and Jeff made it back to Minnesota just a few times during they’re planning to pick out all of their decor, taste their delicious food and nail down all of the logistics.

We took the flowers off of Cheri’s dress as the main inspiration for the design of the wedding, incorporate the subtle floral design into the invitations, cake, and day of stationery! We wanted to incorporate a unique table scape for their small and intimate wedding that featured some really fun elements such as leaves that were colored purple and gold, and bright and bold floral designs.
The couples love of nature was clear throughout the details including river rocks that the guests signed in lieu of a guest book and Tables named after the couples favorite lakes.
Cheri and Jeff changed into  traditional Chinese dress for their entrance into the reception to honor her heritage and then following the cake cutting the couple disappeared to change back into their dress clothes for a dramatic and choreographed dance they had been working on for months!

Where do I start with Bridget and Jimmy? First off, I knew from the moment that I met them that they had an incredible bond, friendship and love…. and that is one of my favorite parts of my job.. to be able to continue to witness the love between my couples throughout some of the best days of their lives while planning their wedding!!

When they came to me they had thought they were going to wait until Spring of 2014 to get married, but soon after looking at venues they landed on October 26th, 2013 which meant that we needed to plan the wedding in 10 months. For some clients that would be difficult but when you are as organized and as good at making decisions as Bridget and Jimmy are… it is easy 🙂

They decided on Minikahda Club for their ceremony and reception and I feel like that choice was PERFECT for them. If I could sum up these two in a few words it would be Classic, Elegant and Timeless.. just like the Minikahda Club!

The team of vendors on this wedding were incredible and I owe all of these lovely images to Wing from Canary Grey! She has been friends with Bridget and Jim for a few years and that made her connection to the photos and the day of the wedding even more meaningful!! Congratulations to Bridget and Jim and may you have MANY more years of timeless love!!
