Britt and Cole – Saint Paul Hotel Wedding

Cole and Britt were married on a BEAUTIFUL July Day in St. Paul at the Historic Saint Paul Hotel. I had the pleasure of assisting Britt and Cole with their wedding planning while they were busy moving all of over the country for Cole’s job!! Britt always knew exactly what she wanted and it was a lot of fun to assist her in the details of the planning and making sure that everything was coming together perfectly!! They started off the wedding weekend with a welcome boat cruise on the Mississippi for all of the out of town guests, Friday continued the fun with the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner ending the weekend with their fantastic pink and white wedding! The St. Paul Hotel does a fantastic job hosting weddings (and the food is amazing!) And last year they added on this amazing getting ready room.. you can see the fantastic photos here below!!
Congratulations again Britt and Cole!! And Go Knicks!!!

Minikahda Club Wedding- Bridget and Jim

Where do I start with Bridget and Jimmy? First off, I knew from the moment that I met them that they had an incredible bond, friendship and love…. and that is one of my favorite parts of my job.. to be able to continue to witness the love between my couples throughout some of the best days of their lives while planning their wedding!!

When they came to me they had thought they were going to wait until Spring of 2014 to get married, but soon after looking at venues they landed on October 26th, 2013 which meant that we needed to plan the wedding in 10 months. For some clients that would be difficult but when you are as organized and as good at making decisions as Bridget and Jimmy are… it is easy 🙂

They decided on Minikahda Club for their ceremony and reception and I feel like that choice was PERFECT for them. If I could sum up these two in a few words it would be Classic, Elegant and Timeless.. just like the Minikahda Club!

The team of vendors on this wedding were incredible and I owe all of these lovely images to Wing from Canary Grey! She has been friends with Bridget and Jim for a few years and that made her connection to the photos and the day of the wedding even more meaningful!! Congratulations to Bridget and Jim and may you have MANY more years of timeless love!!

Ally and Joe – Nicollet Island Pavillion Wedding

When I think of Ally and Joe I think of LOVE.. The kind of love that you know will last a lifetime and many miles. When I first met Ally she was attending Harvard for her Masters Degree all while trying to plan a wedding back home in Minnesota. Joe and Ally had spent lots of time apart while Joe was in Graduate school in Chicago and now when Ally had moved out East for school. Everytime they were together you could just tell they loved to spend time together! Thank god for Ally’s wonderful Mother Mary Kay who not only attended all of our meetings together but was a huge part of our planning team for over a year! Ally is so smart (obviously HARVARD Smart) and she was very detailed in what she wanted her wedding to look like! Joe lived in Minnesota and was a big part of our planning process as well! Every time that Ally came home we headed out to tackle her wedding meetings and they never seemed like work.. I really loved hanging out with Ally and Mary Kay and I felt like I was part of the family!!

Joe is Mexican and it was very important to incorporate his culture into the wedding. The whole design started with the invitations that Ally found online… a beautiful laser cut design that mimicked the design on traditional Mexican Papel Picado’s. This was a look that we brought into numerous pieces of the stationary as well as custom Papel Picado’s that were designed with Ally and Joe’s names and wedding date.  Bright colors filled Nicollet Island Pavillion and centerpieces varied from Mexican lanterns with candles, large purple and orange floral arrangements and Mexican cans filled with succulents. We incorporated Mexican hand painted tiles on vases at the reception and as table numbers. A Marachi Band set the tone of the cocktail hour while guests drank signature drinks, snacked on “tacones” and took in the sites of the beautiful Nicollet Island Pavillion

Ally and Joe had their favorite Chicago band come to Minneapolis for the reception and they were amazing!!! The night ended with a breakfast burrito bar!! Thank you to Ally and Joe (and Mary Kay) for involving me in such a fun year of planning!! Here is to many more adventures to you both!!

Emily and Josh- Minnesota Boat Club Wedding

Working with Emily and Josh on their Minnesota Boat Club wedding last June was on a perfect summer day surrounded by water and family! The small wedding of 150 guests was perfect for Raspberry Island! Everytime I am at the Boat club I feel like we are in a personal backyard with our own big house for the reception! When I was developing the theme with Emily we wanted something bright, full of fun elements and playful!! Molly Hiller from Mollys Flower Studio knocked it out of the park with BIG BRIGHT PEONIES that really lit up the space! The stationery tied well into our chevron and bright floral theme and the photography by Melissa Oholendt captured everything perfectly!

The Depot Minneapolis Wedding – Krystal and Mitch

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a great end of the year! I know that I have had a fantastic year and I thought a good way to end the year on the blog would be with one of our first 2013 weddings.. Krystal and Mitch!! I had the pleasure of working with Krystal and Mitch for a year and a half as they planned their wedding from Arizona. Not only did I love working with them but I became really close their family as well! Krystal and Mitch came to town about 3 times before their wedding and we had big “planning days” and on each of these days I had the pleasure of seeing Krystals Parents along with one of my favorite puppies… Mitzy at all of our meetings! Krystal and Mitch’s wedding was a perfect mix of raw emotion and lots of LOVE! Mitch is a professional golfer from Canada and so it only seemed fitting to bring in some Candian flare with our maple leaf cookie cutters and Minnesota Cookies cutters on tied to the placecards! We incorporated a lot of natural green elements into the decor that was perfect for Spring! Happy New Year Krystal and Mitch.. I am always thinking of you (especially when it is -30 in Minnesota!!)
