I get writer’s block ALOT.. especially in the midst of wedding season when I am consumed with finalizing numbers, updating timelines, running rehearsals and marathoning on wedding days! Its hard to sit down and focus on blogging beautiful images and finding the RIGHT words to explain what special families mean to me and my business! And that is exactly what happened with Sarah and Jameson’s Hutton House wedding blog post! I received these images about two weeks after the wedding (yes, its true that these beautiful images get created that quickly – Janelle.. I love you!!)  And I looked at them… Instagrammed them and then waited until I found the perfect time to sit down and write about them 🙂

While I still do not have the perfect words to explain what a joy it was to work with Amy (the wonderful mother of the Bride) on every step of this wedding. She not only had to play the mother of the bride but because Sarah (the bride) was playing professional volleyball in Italy.. she had to be the interpreter and main decision maker on every little detail.. and she NAILED it!! Her attention to detail and unwavering trust in my opinion and expertise made this experience so much fun for me to coordinate!!

We planned the wedding in a little under 10 months and the first thing we decided on was The Hutton House for the ceremony and reception. I was excited that this would be my first wedding at the brand new, beautiful venue. When we choose the Hutton House they were still under construction and that not only requires a lot of trust from couples booking the space.. but it also creates a lot of work for all vendors involved since it is a space that they have never worked in; Luckily for us, The owners of Hutton House designed a beautiful venue filled with essential elements for a flawless ceremony and reception.

Because of the size of our wedding, we decided to bring in farm tables from Apres to maximize our seating and to also bring some color to the space. The moment I saw the fireplace I knew that we needed to create a wood monogram to tie in our invitation suite and to become the focal point of the cocktail hour space. Sadie’s floral created a stunning entrance to the venue with hanging greenery and lush lanterns to welcome all of the guests! After a Horrible Minnesota Spring, May 4th was absolutely stunning and the perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony (and renewed my trust in Minnesota for a few weeks 🙂

My stories could go on and on.. but everyone just wants to see photos of this beautiful day!! To both the Wilhite and Parson’s Family. THANK YOU for letting me be apart of your family for a few months and I truly enjoyed every minute!!!

So, the bridesmaids were easy to shop for.  Heck, you’ve bought them so much stuff you are pushing that budget! Mothers, even flower girls, those are the easy gifts.  In fact, if I had to guess the LAST thing you think about in shopping for your wedding. . . it’s probably those boys.

Or maybe you think about it, and you just don’t finish the shopping.

Because….it’s just too hard to decide exactly how to make them happy.

So let’s look at some of the different best men in your wedding and what you might get them. The best man, the junior groomsmen, the groomsmen, the fathers, there are a lot of men who work hard to make your wedding wonderful.

Mini Maglites

Mini Maglite Groomsmen Gift Set in Choice of Colors

Visit Website

This cute little maglite set is great for a young junior groomsmen or ring bearer, to give them a special, personalized gift that will honor their contribution.

Completely affordable at under $25, it comes in a case that’s easy to wrap and carry. The light itself is adjustable from a regular beam to spotlight, and comes in his favorite color. The whole thing comes conveniently with two AA batteries, and once you replace the batteries, you can make sure that new replacement batteries are put in the box! There is something so appealing about a flashlight (especially an adjustable one) to young boys, and he will absolutely love one with his name on it!

Beer Box

Personalized 24oz Pilsner Beer Glass with Bottle Opener and Wood Keepsake Box/Cooler which holds six 12oz Beer Cans

Is it Beer O’Clock yet? I can’t walk 3 blocks without seeing a new craft beer place in my neighborhood!  Here’s a chance to fill this box with your favorite beer (or a collection of different beers). The box itself is personalized, and so is the beautiful Pilsner glass, etched with your groomsman’s name.

The box can act as a temporary cooler, which means that the men in your wedding can bring out this beautiful cooler of 6 beers and a glass at any social event. With plenty of room for personalization, you can include a name and date or initials.

Luxury Fleece Robe

Just for Him Embroidered Luxury Fleece Robe with Name

The embroidered robe may be nothing new, but it is such a beautiful and warm gesture.  I remember years ago when I left my first big job, and the boss who’d always given me such a hard time gave me a big, plush, personalized robe!  I touched that fabric and felt like so loved!

This gorgeous, lush fleece robe comes in a few colors and has different fonts and thread colors. It’s always nice when personalization can also mean changing the look of the writing as well as just the name (or initials).

Since many are staying away from their home for a few nights for the wedding–whether in a hotel or with family–it’s nice to have robes for the groomsmen, which they can then take home to remember that weekend to remember.

Weekender Bag

Personalized Weekender Bag – Canvas Travel Bag

A carry-on travel bag is just about the most convenient gift out there.  This is a beautiful canvas and faux-leather bag sold on Etsy. The reviews are amazing.  Just look at this review:

This bag is gorgeous and quality! I gave one to my father as a Christmas gift and he LOVED it! Everyone was raving about how beautiful it was. I would easily think this bag cost over $100 as the quality and craftsmanship is superb!”

If you want to make sure a gift will be used, it’s a great idea to consider something like this bag.  It’s a great size for a weekend or overnight bag, and instead of an over-involved personalization, it will just feature initials (in any font or color thread you’d like), making it easy to keep track of.

At under $35, this is highly affordable as well–and could be given in bulk to bridesmaids as well.

Beard Groom & Trim Kit

Men’s Beard Grooming and Trimming Gift Set

Have a particularly hairy crew? Beards are still going strong as a trend and in any group of young guys you’ve got at least a few who are starting to grow them. Not all gifts have to be personalized to be special–these beard kits, particularly popular now, are really useful for the experienced or brand new beard-sprouter.

This trimming and treatment kit combines beard oil and balm with trimming tools like scissors, trimmer, comb and brush in stainless steel.  It has a really pretty solid pinewood beard comb and horse hair brush, as well as a lovely dark wood box for storage. Basically, you can turn the mundane job of beard trimming into an elegant gift!

Marlee and Ezra’s Machine Shop Wedding was the perfect ending to the summer wedding season!! I started helping Marlee and Ezra plan 15 months before the wedding day. With Marlee and Ezra living in New York, the mother of the bride Heather took the reigns locally to handpick vendors and to make the vision for the day come to life.

Vendors such as Machine Shop, Arts and Flowers, Bean and Ro, and Festivities helped to create the elegant decor that Heather and Marlee were looking for! Arts and Flowers did an amazing job on the wedding floral, transforming our vague ideas into something truly unique and different!  Bean and Ro worked with Heather and Marlee to not only design the wedding invitations, but also all of the stationery items for the welcome dinner, brunch, welcome bags and day of the wedding!

Like most Jewish weddings, finding the perfect band is an important component to the wedding day! Marlee and Ezra choose Bluewater Kings and the dance floor was packed all night long!! The only breaks that guests took from the dance floor were to enjoy some unique late-night snacks provided by Damico Catering. Because we were celebrating Marlee and Ezra’s wedding during the Minnesota State Fair… we themed the late-night snacks all around our favorite “fair foods”.

Thank you again Marlee and Ezra for letting me be apart of your big day!!!

I had the privilege of working with Emily and Andrew on their beautiful fall wedding at Hope Glen Farm. It was a venue that we had never worked at before and was always on my “list” of top venues I wanted to work at. They did not disappoint; Everyone from the owners of Hope Glen Farm to the event planner onsite were so gracious in answering questions and making sure that Emily and Andrew’s wedding went perfectly!

The wedding was full of details and perfectly picked vendors to pull the day together!! Camrose Hill Flowers transformed the already beautiful venue with TONS of flowers and greenery!! Farina made sweet treats for all of the guests to ensure they would dance the night away!!!! It was also my first time working with the CUTE Photobooth company – Northerly. It was the perfect compliment to Hope Glen Farm’s setting.

2019 was an amazing year for Lasting Impressions.. Thank you to all of our couples and families that we were able to assist this year!!! I am excited for all 2020 has to offer!

From my first meeting with Erin and Cole I instantly knew that I wanted to work with them and plan their wedding. They were decisive, fun and had some great ideas for what they wanted in a wedding!!! I left the initial meeting and we we started to look for a venue right away!!! We knew we needed to be quick to secure a venue because they really wanted a Fall wedding for 300 guests. One of the first venues  that we spoke about was Bavaria Downs, a new venue that was just opening. Bavaria Downs was the perfect fit for Erin and Cole with its outdoor ceremony site, breathtaking views and a beautiful ballroom for over 300 guests!!

After securing Bavaria Downs we dove right into the rest of the planning. Erin’s mom Lisa was an amazing part of our planning team as well attending all of the meetings and giving Erin and Cole tons of support throughout the process!! We choose a neutral pallette for the floral and decor;  Incorporating gold, champagne and some accents of Dusty Rose into the floral and centerpieces.

The September day was filled with threats of rain in the forecast… but thankfully the weather was perfect and the ceremony was filled with some of the best lighting I have ever seen!!

Have a wonderful first Christmas as a married couple Erin and Cole!!
